Friday 22nd May
The Theory of Everything
Director: James Marsh
Stars: Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones
With two stunning central performances (Eddie definitely deserved all those awards) this true story of Stephen Hawking, and his relationship with his wife as his illness takes hold, doesn’t have much science but plenty of heart. It is an amazing story of bravery and strength, well scripted and beautifully paced.

Friday 26th June
Birdman
Director: Alejandro G Iñárritu
Stars: Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts
Following one major Oscar winner we have another, very different one: Birdman won Best Film and Best Screenplay. This satire on Hollywood has Michael Keaton in career best form (and that’s very good form) as the aging film star trying to shake his typecasting as a superhero. Dark, adult humour (and some bad language) in a very good film.
Cert 15, 119 minutes. Comedy, drama
Friday 24th July
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Director: John Madden
Stars: Judy Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, Celia Imrie, Richard Gere & others
The follow up to the immensely successful Marigold Hotel has the gang now ensconced in their Indian home, and manager Dev Patel with ambitions to expand. The star-studded cast is joined by Richard Gere and Tamsin Greig, mixing up the relationship dynamic and adding to the fun.
