Footpaths Project: News Update

We hope that as many people as possible were able to enjoy walking in the woodlands around the village during the wonderful snowy weather.  Unfortunately, the snow has brought down a lot of trees and branches across our footpaths, so in order to get them cleared we are building a list of where work is needed.  If you come across across a route that is blocked, please send an email to with a note of the location (OS grid reference if possible) and a brief description of the blockage and we will notify the right people.

We have had an update from Natural Resources Wales with the good news that they expect to have the Beacon Hill Car Park re-opened in time for the New Year.

Many thanks to all of the volunteers who have helped with the Footpath Project in 2017.  We look forward to continuing with more improvements to our local paths in 2018.

The Narth Singers Christmas Concert 2017

Wales Air Ambulance, with its four helicopters, is a vital
service to Wales and to Monmouthshire, particularly its rural areas.
They provide a rapid response within that vital first hour after an
accident, illness or injury.
They depend entirely on public support. Which why The Narth
Singers are delighted to be supporting them in their Christmas
concert this year.
The concert, entitled ‘Deck the Halls’, will be held on Thursday
December 14th in Pelham Hall, Penallt, starting at 7.30pm. Just in
time to get you in that Christmas mood. With a fabulous, new and
exciting range of pieces this year, you are sure to be wowed. Come
and hear them and support the Wales Air Ambulance at the same
time. If you don’t know where the hall is details can be found at
