In place of our normal film, on Friday 27th April Films on the Narth will present a filmed live performance of The Audience featuring Helen Mirren in her widely acclaimed role as Queen Elizabeth II.
The play depicts a series of Her Majesty’s regular interviews with prime ministers over the years, including Edward Fox as Winston Churchill and Haydn Gwynne as Margaret Thatcher.
Written by Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry, the production has won many accolades including three Tony Awards and two Olivier Awards.
Helen Mirren is, of course, one of our greatest living stage actors and as most of us have not had the opportunity to see her in a live performance, this will give you a very good idea of why she keeps winning all those awards!
Running time is 3 hours – there will be an interval.
Due to the higher licence fee, tickets will be £8 for this show. There is no advance booking. Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm start and the bar will be open.
There are more details and clips of this and all the presentation in our joint programme, on the Pelham Hall web site
