Our Annual Fete this year will be a social afternoon around the theme of
Village Life in Days Gone By
12.30pm to 5pm
- Wheelie Grand Parade at 2pm (meet 1.45pm in Woodlands)
- Games – boules and outdoor table tennis (weather permitting!)
- Wild Tots children’s activities and woodland scavanger hunt 12.30pm to 2pm
- Stalls including White Elephant, Produce, Plants…
- Lunch and refreshments – bar, barbeque, salads
- Afternoon teas from 2.30pm with musical accompaniment from Derek Rainsford on Piano and the Forest Flutes Choir
- Display of photographs and memorabilia from the village’s past
How you can contribute:
Join the Parade
Book a place in the Wheelie Grand Parade! Dressed & decorated for the theme Times Gone By please, with any form of non-motorised wheels (wheelbarrow, bike, scooter, skateboard, roller skates, shopping trolley….) Congregate in Woodlands at 1.45pm. Let Cathy Russell know in advance please: 860637 or email email@example.com. Children are especially welcome to take part.
Old Pictures and Memorabilia
If you have anything that could enhance our display please get in touch with Marilyn (contact details below) . Photos of the village and residents are particularly welcome.
White Elephant Stall
If you have any item you would like to donate to Linda Snowden’s bric a brac stall, please email firstname.lastname@example.org who will collect, or alternatively you can bring on the day of fete. Good quality only please. Anything left over after the fete will be donated to St David’s Hospice charity shop.
The Garden Club will be running a stall and would appreciate offerings of garden produce, fresh or preserved. Bring along to the hall on the morning of the Fete or contact Marilyn to make other arrangements.
If you have anything to donate to the raffle it will be very much appreciated. Please give to a member of the committee or contact Marilyn to arrange collection.
If you or anyone you know would like to run a stall to publicise or raise money for your own cause, please contact Marilyn. We can provide a table, the rest will be up to you!
Decorate your Gardens
With the theme of Days Gone By, or dig out those old scarecrows (we’d love some pictures of those for the display). Otherwise bunting and colour to brighten up the village streets.
Appropriate costume on the day would also be appreciated – any time as long as it’s Gone By!
