Wye Valley Women is a community group set up at the beginning of 2018 after The Narth WI closed. Its aim is to provide regular opportunities for social interaction between members, and frequently their guests.
Members are invited to meet once a month on the third Tuesday. Meetings are usually in The Narth Village Hall where activities include speakers, quizzes and demonstrations.
Other regular activities currently include Walk and Talk on the first Tuesday of each month; a series of seasonal workshops called Something Different, where members are given hints and tips on how to create seasonal floral displays; organised trips (e.g. to The Royal Mint); and a monthly chat, art and craft afternoon. Members and their guests are invited to a bi-monthly lunch at a local pub or restaurant.
An annual Garden Party is held for members and their guests in the summer, whilst at Christmas there is a festive decoration workshop, a Christmas Lunch and a members’ prize draw.
A small group of volunteers (the Steering Group) organises the programme of activities and manages the finances. Volunteers are always welcome to help run the activities and to suggest speakers or other activities.
Annual subscription is currently set at £25.
