Dawn Chorus Walk 7th April

Singing birdOn Sunday 7th April, 20 people strolled through Manor Woods to listen to the dawn chorus, led by professional naturalist Ed Drewitt and organised by the village Footpaths Project.

Starting in the dark & in silence, we were able to appreciate the woodland waking up & coming to life. Here’s a bit of what it sounded like, recorded by Jon Dunkelman.

We heard 25 different species of bird, listed here (pdf file): Bird List Dawn Chorus 7 April 2019

It was a lovely experience, and we would like to do it again.  If you’d like to join us next year, please let  Jane Gilliard or Marilyn Dunkelman know as soon as possible please (expressions of interest only are needed at this time as we want to know that we have enough interest to book Ed again).  Phone Jane on 861974, or contact Marilyn via this site’s Contact Us page.
