The end of May Bank Holiday Monday wouldn’t be the same without the annual Big Breakfast, this year on 27th May from 9 am to 11 am.
As always the breakfast will be served by local children, with proceeds divided between the village hall and a local charity. This year the charity is Age Cymru Gwent, who run the Social Club at the Village Hall on Wednesday afternoons.
Age Cymru was formed when Age Concern and Help the Aged merged in 2009, pooling their resources to provide services for people over 50. The Gwent branch covers Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen and provides information and advice, home support, help for carers and much more. Monmouthshire Community Support Services (MCSS) is the division of Age Cymru Gwent that provides support for socially isolated older people in Monmouthshire within their local communities, including running classes and social clubs such as the one in our village.
As usual there will be a choice of great breakfasts on offer, from Continental to Full English, from bacon sandwiches to pancakes and maple syrup.
