The Committee’s Role

Committee members are trustees of The Narth & District Village Hall.  The object of the charity is “the provision and maintenance of a Village Hall for use by the inhabitants of the area of benefit without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for: (a) meetings, lectures and classes, and (b) other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation; with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.”

As well as maintaining the Hall and making it available to other groups and individuals, the Committee helps organise events and activities to raise funds for the upkeep of the Hall. Any surplus income from events is re-invested in our facilities.

The Committee also aims to adhere to a set of policies, which are reviewed on a regular basis, covering: Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Complaints, Conflicts of Interest, Ethical Sourcing, Equality & Diversity, Data Protection, Finance, Risk Management, Hall Hire & Charging for Charitable Events. For further information on any of these policies please contact us here

Annual Accounts

Our financial year runs from 1st October to 30th September.  Annual accounts are produced and independently examined.  The approved accounts are available here.

Supporting the Committee

The Committee is always looking for new members, ideas or opportunities. You do not need to be a Committee member to organise an event or volunteer to support an event. You can contact the Committee here.

Community Chest

There is a small fund set aside to help support local events for the community. If you are organising a community event please get in touch with the Committee for more details. You can contact the Committee here.

Gift Aid

The Committee is registered to receive Gift Aid on donations made by eligible people. If you make a donation to the Hall and are eligible for Gift Aid please complete this form and pass to the Committee for the attention of the Treasurer. Your information will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of claiming Gift Aid repayments from HMRC.
