About the event

Wye July is organised by Friends of the Lower Wye to highlight the issues of pollution facing the River Wye.

Local clubs, groups or organisations which have a connection to the river or valley will be exhibiting to show both locals and visitors how  important the river is for both our health and the wildlife.

Over 30 stalls including Bees for Development, ACE Monmouth, AONB, Rotary Monmouth, Monmouth Litter Group, Wye Valley Meadery, Nelson Gardens Trust, Monmouth Meadows, Jewellery specialist, Transition Monmouth, Two Rivers Meadow Grou, Fungi Folks, The Pottery Man, Gwent Wildlife Trust, VW Classics and SARA River Rescue.

Food available from The VW Waffle Co and Carburetta Coffee Co.

Meet our Citizen Scientists and test the river water.

Storytelling | Poetry Corner | Kidzone | Speakers Corner 

Live music including Mr & Mrs Jones, Wye 5 and Skylark.

The event starts at Monnow Bridge with a procession headed by the Goddess of the Wye and the Algae monster accompanied by a Samba band. Everyone is welcome to join and carry banners.
