Village Hall AGM 20 October 2021

This year the AGM will take place in the hall but will also be available online via Zoom, on Wednesday 20th October at 7.30pm

All residents are invited to attend, and we would very much appreciate your support.

For those attending the hall, refreshments will be available, including a limited bar. The first beer or glass of wine will be free.

For those who would prefer to attend via Zoom, a link to the meeting will be emailed to everyone on the Village Email List. If you are not on the list please contact us using our form here to be sent a link or to ask to be added to the mailing list. The link will take you straight to the meeting, using a computer, tablet or phone. You do not need to install anything in advance.

As with last year’s AGM, the meeting is expected to be relatively short as groups have only recently been returning to the hall. We will give a short report of the hall’s activities in the last year and our current situation, as well as a summary of the financial report. Full versions of these reports will be posted online.

Last year’s minutes are here: Minutes of The Narth Hall AGM October 2020 (pdf file)

The agenda will be

  • Review of the year
  • Our current situation and looking forward
  • Discussion time – your chance to ask questions and give your opinion
  • Elections to the Committee
  • 100 Club draw

Glade Tavern – 2nd October

Following the successful relaunch on the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Glade Tavern returns to the village hall this Saturday (2nd October) with an earlier opening time of 5.00pm.

Fantastic, and ever popular, fish and chips will be available from SuperFish from around 6.30pm.

In October Simon Wheelton is cycling 280 miles over three days hoping to raise £10,000+ for Air Ambulance UK. To support his efforts there will be an official collection pot on the bar during the evening. If you want to know more visit Simon’s Just Giving page

The Glade Tavern is provided by a a small group of volunteers and if you are interested in helping out in any way please get in touch.

Follow the Scarecrow Trail!

This Bank Holiday Weekend, take a walk around our villages and see the wonderful creations on the Heroes and Villains Scarecrow Trail.

Click here to download the Scarecrow Trail map. Can you find them all?

Paper versions of the map are available in The Narth phone box at the end of School Lane.

Remember to vote for your favourites! There is a slip attached to the map, and you can leave your votes in the phone box.

If you are too late for the map, but still want to take part in the fun, just display your scarecrow in your garden over next weekend, from Saturday 28th to Monday 30th August.

Happy hunting everyone! And remember to visit The Glade Tavern for refreshments on Sunday from 2pm 😊

Scarecrows Return to The Narth! Join the Trail on Bank Holiday Weekend

There will be a trail map produced for people to follow – if you want to add your scarecrow to the map please let the Anna Brown know by Monday 9th August. That’s or WhatsApp 07963 954330.

Get creative – there will be voting for the favourites!

The Glade Tavern: Booking for 3 July

UPDATE: I’m afraid the Tavern team have decided to cancel this event.

The Tavern is Back!! Unfortunately under Welsh rules we have to restrict this to table service, so we are asking people to book a table for your group (up to 6 people). There will be Fish and Chips available too.

Nikki Godfrey is managing bookings – details of how to contact her are below.

There will be two sittings: at 4pm and at 7.30pm.

To book please give:

  • The name of the ‘lead’ member of your group
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Address
  • The full names and contact details of all the others in your party (this is a legal requirement for Track and Trace purposes)
  • Which sitting you prefer, and whether you are able to come to the alternative sitting if your first choice is full

Please bring a mask for going through the hall.

If you are able to book a place then find you, or someone in your party, cannot come, please let Nikki know so we can release the place for someone else.

If you or any of your party feel ill, or test positive for Covid, please do not come!

Most of the tables will be outside, but there will be open-sided marquee cover in case of rain.  Some tables will be inside.

The Fish and Chip van will be in place from 6pm on the day, opposite the Village Hall, and this does not require booking so you can get your supper and take it home if you don’t have a place at the Tavern.  There will be socially distanced queuing of course, but you can just turn up.

Email Nikki Godfrey  Include the details listed above.

Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis until all tables are full.  There is a maximum of 50 people per sitting, so don’t delay sending in your booking.

Thanks everyone, and please bear with the volunteers as this is a lot of work for the team and it’s all new territory.
