Take a stroll back in time this year to see the Victorian Christmas Trials at The Narth Village Hall on the afternoon of Saturday 14th December, when Gwent Magistrates will be re-enacting true cases as they appeared in Court back in the Victorian times.
Victorian Courts were rowdy, with cases being swiftly dealt with and sentencing being rather harsh on relatively minor crimes. Come and join in with the atmosphere and witness Justice as it was served during those times.
Audience participation and Victorian style dress is encouraged, even if it’s just a hat!
Tickets £5 in advance (£6 on the door, if available). Proceeds to be shared between Alzheimer’s Research UK (Gwent Magistrate’s selected charity) and The Narth Village Hall.
Doors and licensed bar open at 2 .30pm for a 3pm start.
Numbers are limited so please book in advance, phone Sue on 01600 860373 or use the booking form below: Continue reading

Thursday 13th December 7.30pm at St Nicholas’ Church, Trellech
(Note this is a change of venue – originally advertised as Penallt)
You may remember the disastrous hurricane that struck south-east Asia 5 years ago. Super-typhoon Haiyan was one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded. It killed at least 6,300 people in the Philippines alone. At that time the Narth Choir raised nearly £1,000 towards Monmouth Rotary Club’s ShelterBox Appeal. Each ShelterBox provides all the needs for a displaced family – food, water, shelter even games for the kids. And through the world-wide Rotary network, they get there very quickly.
The Narth Choir is hoping, through your generosity, to raise enough for another ShelterBox at their Christmas Concert on Thursday 13th December 7.30pm at Trellech. Continue reading
