Our annual fete and dog show is happening on Sunday 28th August this year and we shall have a white elephant stall, so we are on the scrounge for any decent quality things we can sell – clothes, jewellery, household items, ornaments, books, stationery – anything you don’t want and someone else might (with a few exceptions mentioned below).
We also want items for the raffle and tombola/bottle stalls – it’s all in a good cause! Continue reading
The full Schedule for the Dog Show is now available: Dog Show Full Schedule 2015 (pdf download).
Bring your dog along on the day and give him/her a chance to show off! The Show will take place at the start of the Village Fete on Bank Holiday Monday, with registrations opening at 12 noon (£1 per dog per class) and the first event starts at 12.30pm. Refreshments will be available in the Glade (including a licensed bar and barbeque) and the facilities in the Hall will be open.
Donations – raffle prizes, books, kids clothing, scarves, bags, jewellery, DVDs and bottles of anything – can be taken to the hall (any time it is open) or contact Jane (860422) to arrange delivery. The Hall will be open specifically for collections on Saturday 22nd and Saturday 29th August from 11am to 12 noon. Goods can also be received by stall-holders direct on the day before noon.
This year’s fete will take place as usual on August Bank Holiday Monday, and we’re holding a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the Hall with activities and events in The Glade. Wear an appropriate hat to join in the fun, and if you’re feeling creative, or just have some good home grown vegetables, enter the Competitions.
We are encouraging residents of the village to display white rabbits, or rabbit ears, in hedges or gardens, and to put up bunting and colours to build a great atmosphere for Fete Day.
The evening before the fete there will be Songs of Praise in the The Glade at 6 pm with refreshments beforehand in the hall from 5 pm.
Support the Village Hall funds and have your own memento of the big (if rather wet) day!
Prints of the pictures below on high quality photo paper are available from Graham Agg for £5.00 for 7″x 5″ and £8.50 for A4 size, with proceeds going to the Village Hall. Continue reading
